WALNUT CREEK (TRAVIS COUNTY)
WALNUT CREEK (Travis County). Walnut Creek rises in northwest Austin in northern Travis County (at 30°26' N, 97°45' W) and runs southeast for twenty miles, through a variety of business and residential areas, to its mouth on the Colorado River (at 30°15' N, 97°38' W). The surrounding terrain is rolling prairie with local steep slopes; clay loams support juniper, oak, and grasses.
