WHITE ROCK CREEK (HILL COUNTY)
WHITE ROCK CREEK (Hill County). White Rock Creek rises in northeastern Hill County (at 32°08' N, 97°04' W) twelve miles northeast of Hillsboro and runs southeast for twenty-three miles to its mouth on Navarro Mills Lake, six miles southeast of Irene (at 31°56' N, 96°47' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It crosses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by dark, commonly calcareous clays, deep to shallow expansive clays, and clay and sandy loams that support mesquite, grasses, oak, juniper, and cacti. The area has served as range and crop land.
