WILDHORSE CREEK (WICHITA COUNTY)
WILDHORSE CREEK (Wichita County). Wildhorse Creek rises two miles northeast of Clara in north central Wichita County (at 34°04' N, 98°43' W) and runs northeast, then east, and finally southeast, for sixteen miles to its mouth on the Red River, one mile west of Burkburnett (at 34°05' N, 98°31' W). The surrounding moderately steep slopes are surfaced by shallow to moderately deep silt loams that support mesquite trees and grasses. The region historically has served as rangeland.
