WILLOW CREEK (LIBERTY COUNTY)

WILLOW CREEK (Liberty County). Willow Creek rises two miles northeast of Devers in eastern Liberty County (at 30°02' N, 94°34' W) and runs northeast for fifteen miles, crossing into Jefferson County before reaching its mouth on Pine Island Bayou, three miles south of Sour Lake (at 30°06' N, 94°24' W). The creek cuts through an area of loamy soils and mixed pine and hardwood forests. The existence of an abandoned railroad grade north of the creekbed indicates that the area was once a site for lumbering.
