WEST CREEK (SHELBY COUNTY)
WEST CREEK (Shelby County). West Creek rises twelve miles northwest of Center in western Shelby County (at 31°50' N, 94°21' W) and runs southwest for thirteen miles to its mouth on Attoyac Bayou (at 31°41' N, 94°24' W). The soil varies from sandy to clayey and loamy, and the terrain varies from nearly level to moderately steep. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
