BEAR BAYOU

BEAR BAYOU. Bear Bayou rises four miles south of Timpson in northwestern Shelby County (at 31°50' N, 94°21' W) and flows southwest for seven miles to its mouth on Attoyac Bayou (at 31°47' N, 94°25' W). The surrounding terrain, gently sloping to moderately steep, is surfaced with sandy loam. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
