HOGGS BAYOU
HOGGS BAYOU. Hoggs (Hog) Bayou rises three miles northwest of Carthage in central Panola County (at 32°10' N, 94°24' W) and runs east for twelve miles to its mouth on the Sabine River, four miles south of River Hill (at 32°10' N, 94°13' W). The stream, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, traverses generally flat terrain, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
