ANTELOPE MESA

ANTELOPE MESA. Antelope Mesa is a half mile west of Gemelo Mesa in east central Presidio County (at 29°58' N, 103°55' W). With an elevation of 4,826 feet above sea level, its summit rises 594 feet over Paradise Valley, which runs along its southeastern edge. The mesa is formed of sandstone, tuff, and conglomerate. Loose rubble covers its surface. It stands in an area of desert mountain terrain cut by numerous canyons. Area vegetation consists primarily of sparse grasses, cacti, and desert scrub of conifers and oaks.
