GOAT MOUNTAIN [#2] (BREWSTER COUNTY)

GOAT MOUNTAIN [#2] (Brewster County). Goat Mountain is eighteen miles southwest of Alpine in western Brewster County (at 30°07' N, 103°43' W). Its summit, at an elevation of 6,608 feet above sea level, rises 2,100 feet above State Highway 118, eight miles to the east. Soils on Goat Mountain are shallow, stony clay loams and support juniper, oak, grasses, chaparral, and cacti.
