KIT MOUNTAIN. Kit Mountain is thirteen miles southeast of Terlingua and six miles northeast of Castolon in Big Bend National Park in southwestern Brewster County (at 29°12' N, 103°27' W). The peak, at an elevation of 3,825 feet above sea level, rises 825 feet above the Castolon road, just to the east. Soils on the mountain are shallow and stony and support live oak, piñon pine, juniper, and grasses.
