LONE OAK MOUNTAIN

LONE OAK MOUNTAIN. Lone Oak Mountain stands three miles east of the town of Field Creek in extreme northwestern Llano County (at 30°54' N, 98°53' W). At an elevation of 1,867 feet, the summit rises 400 feet above nearby Cold Creek. Local topography is characterized by flat to rolling terrain covered with sandy to clay loams that support open stands of live oak and mesquite.
