MERCER'S BLUFF

MERCER'S BLUFF. Mercer's Bluff is on the San Gabriel River six miles up river from the community of San Gabriel in western Milam County. It was named for Peter Mercer, who was killed by Indians and whose body supposedly fell off the bluff into the river.
