PINE MOUNTAIN
PINE MOUNTAIN. Pine Mountain, also known as Pine Mesa, is twenty-five miles southeast of Marathon in east central Brewster County (at 29°55' N, 102°50' W). The summit, at an elevation of 4,191 feet above sea level, rises some 1,400 feet above Dove Mountain Road, six miles south. The soils in the vicinity are shallow and stony and support juniper, oak, grasses, chaparral, cacti, and some mesquite.
