POST MOUNTAIN (BURNET COUNTY)

POST MOUNTAIN (Burnet County). Post Mountain is in west central Burnet County about a mile southwest of Burnet (at 30°45' N, 98°15' W). It stands at an elevation of 1,514 feet above sea level, rising more than 200 feet above the surrounding countryside. The mountain was named for the nearby military post that became Fort Croghan.
