ROUGH MOUNTAIN

ROUGH MOUNTAIN. Rough Mountain is four miles southwest of Valley Spring in northwest Llano County (at 30°49' N, 98°53' W). At an elevation of 1,466 feet, the summit rises 240 feet above nearby San Fernando Creek. The local terrain is flat to rolling, with local dissection and escarpments, covered with soils of sandy and clay loams. Vegetation consists primarily of open stands of live oak and mesquite.
