ROYS PEAK. Roys Peak is ten miles northeast of Panther Junction in Big Bend National Park in southeastern Brewster County (at 29°22' N, 103°03' W). The summit, at an elevation of 3,945 feet above sea level, rises 1,345 feet above Tornillo Creek, two miles west. Roys Peak is a complex of dark-colored igneous intrusions rich in magnesium and iron. The local shallow stony soils support scrub brush and grasses.
