DRY CREEK (BREWSTER COUNTY)

DRY CREEK (Brewster County). Dry Creek, which runs through Dry Valley Canyon, rises two miles north of U.S. Highway 90 and four miles north of the House Mountains in northeastern Brewster County (at 30°13' N, 102°54' W) and runs southeast for twenty-three miles to its mouth on Sanderson Canyon, a half mile south of U.S. Highway 90 and the Southern Pacific Railroad in extreme southern Pecos County (at 30°09' N, 102°37' W). It traverses an area of steep to gentle slopes surfaced by variable soils that support scrub brush and sparse grasses.
