LAKE GIBBONS
LAKE GIBBONS. Lake Gibbons is a small artificial lake on Pine Creek four miles northwest of Paris in central Lamar County (at 33°42' N, 95°39' W). It was built in 1911 as a water source for Paris and has a capacity of 3,600 acre-feet. The surrounding flat to rolling terrain is surfaced by dark, calcareous clays that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
