BLUMENTHAL, TEXAS (Gillespie County). Blumenthal is on U.S. Highway 290 nine miles southeast of Fredericksburg in southeastern Gillespie County. The community is said to have been established around 1900. In the early 1940s the population was reported at ten, but the number of residents increased to twenty-five by 1945. Two businesses and a few scattered houses marked the community on county highway maps in the late 1940s, but by the late 1980s most of these had disappeared.
