DONOHO, TEXAS. Donoho was on the old Rusk-Lone Star road and just east of Mud Creek seven miles northeast of Rusk in east central Cherokee County. It was established around 1900 and named for the William Donohoqv survey. The settlement flourished briefly but was abandoned in 1902, after the Texas and New Orleans Railroad bypassed it and the new town of Ponta was established one mile east of Mud Creek.
