NEW HOPE, TEXAS (Franklin County). New Hope is on Farm Road 1448 eight miles northeast of Winnsboro in southeastern Franklin County. In 1896 it had a one-room, one-teacher school that served seventy-seven white children. During the 1930s the New Hope had two schools, a store, a church, and several houses. The only population figures available are those of the 1940s, when the population was estimated at twenty. In 1988 New Hope had a church and a few widely scattered houses.
