ROCKY HILL, TEXAS (Colorado County). Rocky Hill is four miles north of State Highway 71 in the northwest corner of Colorado County, adjacent to the Fayette county line. The name is derived from Rocky Hill, a nearby elevation. A Rocky Hill school was on the northwest slope of the hill but was abandoned about 1950. The land in the area is too rocky and broken to support agriculture, though stock grazing and gravel extraction provide some economic activity. The area has a few weekend residences and hunting camps.
