Studies. "The Tejano Voices Collection." The collection consists of
seventy-seven interviews conducted between 1992 and 1999. They reflect
the history of the Tejano community as it pressed for an end to racial
segregation and for access to political power during the latter part of
the twentieth century. The interviews were conducted by Dr. Angel
Gutierrez, associate professor of political science at UT Arlington.
The organization is alphabetical by the names of the interviewees. The
material is available in both sound recording and written transcript

American GI Forum of Texas and the Texas Federation of Labor. Statement about the U.S. government's Bracero Program. 1953. [Excerpt.] These groups oppose the program whenever it leads to Mexican nationals replacing American citizen workers but agree that the practice may be necessary when labor is scarce.
