on file showing that the name of said Gibbs was John. LOMR for Bullock's Company on the original and all subsequent versions of the T&TR roll of Fannin's men, agree that Gibbs of Bullock's Company was a victim of the general massacre at Goliad, March 27, 1836.

The name of Lewis C. Gibbs appears as private, King's Company, on LOMR as well as on the T&TR roster and Dr. Barnard's corrected roll of Fannin's men. He was the only one of King's men who did not sign the Convention Memorial. Every presumption is that he was killed in action March 14th, or massacred with King on March 16th.

Giebenrath signed the Convention Memorial merely "F. Giebenrath," but a biographical sketch by Mrs. Adele B. Looscaw, based on family documents, shows that his full name was Imanuel Frederic Giebenrath, and that he was born in Wittenberg, where he married Christina Johanna Hildweim, who bore him two daughters.
