Francis Gilkison was paid from Dec. 23d, 1835 to March 27, 1836 on the usual War Department certificate that his name appeared as private on Captain Wadsworth's muster rolls and that he was entitled to pay for the period mentioned. His pay was collected by John Hagler, as attorney for his administrator. [CMSR, No. 66, State Library.] LOMR for Wadsworth's Company and the original and all subsequent versions of the T&TR roll of Fannin's men, are in accord that he was a victim of the general massacre at Goliad, March 27, 1836, though they present several different versions of the spelling of his name.
