Ransome O. Graves was a member of Captain George Collinsworth's Company, which captured Goliad, October 9, 1835; and continued there as a member of Captain Dimitt's Company until honorably discharged. He returned to Goliad about March 15th as a member of Captain A. C. Horton's Company of Matagorda men and was one of those who, not being mounted, remained with Fannin when Horton and the mounted men were sent forward to the Coleto on March 19th. He was, consequently, captured with Fannin on March 20th, and became a victim of the general massacre of March 27, 1836.

Francis H. Gray was an original member of Cooke's, or Morris', Company of New Orleans Grays, and the notation on its several rolls is that he was from Scotland. He served continuously with that company from October, 1835 until it was massacred at Goliad, March 27, 1836.
