and served with it continuously from its organization in October, 1835, until the massacre at Goliad, March 27, 1836.

GREEN, WILLIAM T.Private
AgeBurke's Company

On LOMR the name of this soldier appears as "William J. Green." It is to be found in the same form on the Barnard and AGO revisions of the T&TR roll. However, the soldier signed the Convention Memorial, and his signature there is simply and unmistakably "W. T. Green." All sources agree, however, that as a private in Burke's Company he was a victim of the general massacre at Goliad March 27, 1836. He enrolled in Chenoweth's Company Jan. 13, 1836, and Chenoweth notes that he enlisted in the army at Bexar Dec. 15, 1836  [Ed: should be 1835]. The name on Chenoweth's roll is also "W. T. Green."

GREENE, D.Private
AgeTicknor's Company

"I saw one fellow, who told me his name was Green, but I was told by a sick man, (also a prisoner) that his name was Marks. He (Marks, alias Green) stated his satisfaction with his present situation, and believed that he should remain or continue with the Mexicans until they should arrive at Matamoros. I expostulated with him, pressed the imprudence of such a course, insisted on the ill effects produced on the feelings of others ... He continued to reject all propositions ... My patience became wearied, and I then felt no scruples in denouncing him a traitor to the cause of liberty.
