there is no official roster of its non-commissioned officers, as it was reorganized after February 15th; and Heath was paid in 1841 as a private, for services from Oct. 21, 1835 to March 27, 1836, Nathaniel Heath collecting the pay as attorney for his heirs. [CMSR No. 265, State Library.]

Frank Templeton says, without saying how he knew, that on the evening before the massacre,

"Pat Anderson, a former dancing master, played the violin splendidly; and Charles Sargent and Ebenezer Heath, two young men from Boston, Massachusetts, played, one on a flute, and the other on a clarinet."
