Company at Nacogdoches, Dec. 10, 1835, and marched with it from there to San Antonio, and thence to Goliad, where he joined the Mobile Grays; that from Goliad he joined Houston's army at Gonzales, and had continued in the service to that date. The term of service was confirmed by Lieutenant David Murphree of Lawrence's Company, (later ward of Patton's) and Hopkins was honorable discharged by General Rusk on the same day. Thomas Horry was one of sixteen men from Col. Ward's Command detailed by the enemy at Victoria, March 23d, to build a boat, all of whom subsequently escaped. He was honorably discharged at Victoria, May 30th, 1836, by General Rusk, who said, "Thomas Horry, one of Col. Fannin's division, having served faithfully and suffered much in the cause of Texas is hereby honorably discharged." He then served in Patton's "Columbia Company," from May 30th to July 20th, when he was again honorably discharged.
