Charles W. Monday
Dr. Charles W. Monday was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1941, grew up in South Texas, and graduated University of Texas in 1962. He completed his medical degree at UTMB in Galveston in 1966, surgical residency at Herman Hospital in 1971, and military service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1973. Dr. Monday married Jane Clements in 1964. They have three children born in 1966, 1969, and 1973.
He opened his surgical practice in Huntsville, Texas, in 1973 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He served as Chief of Staff in 1980-81 and again in 2002-2003. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Texas Medical Association, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
He was appointed by the governor to the Texas Board of Medical Examiners from 1993-1999. In 2011 he was selected a Physician of the Year by the Huntsville Memorial Hospital employees. He retired in 2020 after serving fifty-years in the field of medicine.
