Doug Perkins

Doug Perkins, a native of San Antonio, earned bachelor of journalism and master of science in technology commercialization degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and 2004, respectively. He spent thirty years as an agricultural business writer and marketer focusing on the Texas cattle industry and fifteen years helping international entrepreneurs launch new ventures. He is the author of three books: Journey's Reward: Renaissance Man Robert Runyon, Pioneer Aviator P. A. Newman, and Entrepreneurship in the Borderlands (Austin: La Rama Press, 2019); Yesterday and Today: The Best of Chuck-Wagon Cooking (Austin: Texas Beef Council, 1989); and Brave Men and Cold Steel: A History of Range Detectives and Their Peacemakers (Fort Worth: Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, 1984).
