Eddie Watson is a PhD student in the History department at the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A and M.A. from the University of Sheffield. He has been living in Austin since 2016 and actively seeks to learn more about the state of Texas and its rich history at every opportunity. Eddie's main research is focused on the relationship between working-class masculinities and punk in northern England between 1976 and the early 1990s. As such, he is particularly interested in local music scenes in Texas more broadly, especially in the Austin area. While in Sheffield, Eddie worked with a local art gallery to build an archive of its contemporary history. Ever since, Eddie has been eager to get involved with public history projects, especially regarding local and regional history.
