Gwendolyn Lockman

Gwendolyn Lockman is a PhD Student in U.S. History at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her MA in History from UT Austin in 2020, with a portfolio in Women’s and Gender Studies, and her BA in American Studies from Georgetown University in 2016. Gwen studies labor and leisure in the U.S. West. Her work has included studies of mining, union organizing, parks and city planning, sports and recreation, music, immigration and race, environment, and land use. 

Gwen is a contributor to NotEvenPast.organ affiliate of the Moody College of Communication Center for Sports Communication and Media, and has served as a Co-coordinator for the Symposium on Gender, History, and Sexuality, a member of the History Graduate Student Council, Social Media Manager and Web News Assistant for the UT Austin Department of History.
