2022 Mary M. Hughes Research Fellowship in Texas History
The Mary M. Hughes Research Fellowship in Texas History is awarded annually for the best research proposal on twentieth-century Texas history.
The proposal, which should be no longer than one page, should specify the purpose of the research, the need for the money, and a description of the end product (article, book, or exhibition). Please include a complete vita with the application. The award will be announced at the Association's Annual Meeting in February 2022. Judges may withhold the award at their discretion.
Individuals wishing to apply should submit an application form (and attach the proposal and a curriculum vita) by October 15, 2021. Only electronic copies submitted through the link below and received by the deadline will be considered.

The Mary M. Hughes Research Fellowship in Texas History was established in 1999 by the thirteen children of Mary M. Hughes, to celebrate their mother's eighty-ninth birthday and her fiftieth year in Texas. The award honors her great love of Texas and its history.
