Adobe Draw rises two miles northwest of Mount Livermore and four miles south of Farm Road 166 in north central Jeff Davis County (at 30°40' N, 104°11' W) and runs northeast for forty miles to its mouth on San Martine Draw, four miles southwest of San Martine Peak in southeastern Culberson County (at 31°08' N, 104°06' W). The last 3½ miles of the draw, below Levinson Reservoir, are dry. The streambed traverses an area of steep to gentle slopes surfaced by variable soils that support scrub brush and sparse grasses.
