Agua Caballo Creek
Agua Caballo (or Horse) Creek, an intermittent stream, rises in the extreme northwestern corner of Oldham County (at 35°37' N, 103°02' W) and flows southeast for thirteen miles through Sidle Canyon to its mouth on the Canadian River, fifteen miles northwest of Adrian (at 35°29' N, 102°54' W). It travels over terrain characterized by somewhat steep to rolling slopes, with locally high relief and shallow to moderately deep silt and clay loams that support mesquite, juniper, cacti, and grasses. The area has been part of the LE Ranch, the Ojo Bravo Division of the XIT Ranch, and John M. Shelton's Bravo Ranch.
