Alamito Creek (Webb County)

Alamito Creek, an intermittent stream, rises in a tank fifteen miles north of Oilton in southeastern Webb County (at 27°43' N, 99°02' W) and runs nine miles north to its mouth on Salado Creek, twenty-three miles east of Callaghan (at 27°52' N, 99°02' W). The surrounding low-rolling and flat terrain has local shallow depressions and a surface of clay and sandy loams; grasses, mesquite, chaparral, and water-tolerant hardwoods predominate in nearby vegetation.
