Alamo Creek, also known as Willow Creek, rises five miles northeast of the Maverick Ranger Station and just south of the park road between the ranger station and Panther Junction in Big Bend National Park, southwestern Brewster County (at 29°19' N, 103°25' W), and runs southwest for nineteen miles to its mouth on the Rio Grande, two miles northwest of Castolon (at 29°09' N, 103°33' W). It flows beneath steep to gentle slopes surfaced by variable soils that support scrub brush and grasses.
