Antelope Gap is a notch between two summits 5½ miles northwest of Lometa and one-half mile east of U.S. Highway 183 in northern Lampasas County (at 31°17' N, 98°27' W). The area is characterized by steeply to moderately sloping hills and thin, stony, sandy and clay loams that support grasses and open stands of live oak, mesquite, and Ashe juniper.
