Antelope Mountain, with an elevation of 1,375 feet, is located eight miles west of Palo Pinto in west central Palo Pinto County (at 32°45' N, 98°26' W). The area is surfaced by thin, stony soil that supports scrub brush, mesquite, cactus, and grasses.
