Bear Branch begins south of Farm Road 576 in southwest Stephens County (at 32°39' N, 99°06' W) and runs east for five miles to its mouth on Battle Creek, two miles south of Eolian (at 32°38' N, 99°01' W). Its course extends through rolling hills surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports scrub brush, mesquite, cacti, and grasses.
