Bear Creek rises four miles east of Ranger in northeastern Eastland County (at 32°26' N, 98°36' W) and runs northeast for seven miles to its mouth on Palo Pinto Creek, near the Palo Pinto county line (at 32°30' N, 98°29' W). It traverses flat terrain with local deep dissections, surfaced by moderately deep loam that supports mesquite, oak, juniper, grasses, and shrubs.
