Bear Creek rises two miles southeast of Trenton in southwest Fannin County (at 33°25' N, 96°18' W) and flows southwest for ten miles, passing under Farm Road 1562 and within a mile of Pike, in Collin County. The streambed extends through gently rolling land surfaced by clayey soils and empties into Indian Creek about two miles from Lavon Lake (at 33°16' N, 96°21' W).
