The Beaumont Enterprise was first published as a weekly by John W. Leonard from November 6, 1880, until some time in 1889. A daily paper of the same name, published by the Beaumont Enterprise Publishing Company, began in 1897. The paper also appeared as the Daily Enterprise, Sunday Enterprise, Beaumont Sunday Enterprise Journal, and Beaumont Enterprise Journal. In the 1990s the paper was published by Aubrey L. Webb, edited by Ben Hansen, and had a circulation of 70,810.
