Beaver Creek rises between Lookout and Long mountains fourteen miles northwest of Burnet in northwestern Burnet County (at 30°55' N, 98°20' W) and flows southwest for eight miles to its mouth on Lake Buchanan (at 30°52' N, 98°25' W). The surrounding terrain is generally flat with local deep dissections and surfaced by shallow, stony soil that supports oak, juniper, and mesquite.
