Bee Creek begins just southwest of Elm Grove in western Caldwell County (at 29°53' N, 97°28' W) and runs north for 8½ miles to its mouth on Walnut Creek, four miles northwest of Red Rock in Bastrop County (at 29°58' N, 97°30' W). It traverses rolling prairie surfaced by shallow, clay loams that support mesquite, mixed hardwoods, and grasses.
