Bee Mountain is a mile south of Meridian by the North Bosque River in the central part of the county (at 31°52' N, 97°37' W). It rises 960 feet above sea level in a level to hilly portion of the Grand Prairies. Soils in the area vary from shallow, stony clay loams to deep, cracking clays, and the local vegetation generally consists of grasses, oak, juniper, chaparral, cacti, and some mesquite.
