Bennett Creek rises five miles west of Oxford in southwestern Llano County (at 30°36' N, 98°47' W) and flows north for nine miles to its mouth on Hickory Creek, nine miles west of Llano (at 30°42' N, 98°50' W). It traverses an area of the Llano basin characterized by flat to rolling terrain with local escarpments and a surface of thick, fine, sandy soils that support open stands of live oak and mesquite.
