Bennett Creek (Mills County)

Bennett Creek begins two miles southeast of Goldthwaite in southeastern Mills County (at 31°28' N, 98°25' W) and runs southeast for twenty-three miles to its mouth on the Lampasas River, in northern Lampasas County (at 31°24' N, 98°12' W). The stream is probably named for Charles H. Bennett, who had a large land grant on its banks in the northern corner of Lampasas County. It is dammed in its upper reaches. It crosses variable terrain surfaced by stony and clayey loam that supports grasses, cacti, brush, scattered post oak, and Spanish oak.
