Big Canyon begins on the WB Flats one mile northwest of the Dimple Hills in southwestern Pecos County (at 30°21' N, 102°58' W) and runs southeast for 106 miles to its mouth on Meyers Canyon, six miles northeast of the Southern Pacific tracks in east central Terrell County (at 30°05' N, 101°55' W). Its steep to gentle slopes are surfaced by variable soils that support scrub brush and sparse grasses.
